Our dear friend and local music teacher at Flower Hill ES, Karina Gomez, lost everything including her home in a tragic two alarm apartment fire on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Despite efforts from Montgomery County Fire crews, Karina's unit along with several others on Palmspring Drive were completely destroyed by the heavy fire.

Karina is now left displaced and mourning the loss of her home. She has temporarily taken up shelter with her family while she figures out how to rebuild her life. Karina is known by her family, friends, coworkers, and students as a sincere, loving and humble person. We have created this website in hopes that caring and sympathetic individuals like yourself, will make monetary donations to help Karina get back on her feet and put a musical spark back into her heart.
